Empowering Women Business Owners

Join GCA as we celebrate Women's History Month. On March 12, 2019, GCA will be hosting Phyllis Hill Slater of the National Women's Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC) .

NWBOC was the first organization to offer a national women business enterprise (WBE) certification. Phyllis serves as co-founder and board president and is the owner and president of Hill Slater Group, a third-generation, family-owned engineering and architectural support system that services the engineering, architectural and construction management communities in the private and public sectors. Phyllis has received hundreds of awards from governments and business and community organizations for her leadership and advocacy for the advancement of women and minority business interests.

Phyllis is in NAWBO's Women's Hall of Fame and testified on capital hill for HR 5050 - The Women's Business Ownership Act. The act was passed in 1988 with the help of the National Association Women Business Owners (NAWBO). H.R. 5050 addressed the needs of women in business by giving women entrepreneurs recognition, resources, and by eliminating discriminatory lending practices by banks that favored male business owners.

Join GCA and NWBOC as we celebrate Women's History Month and you!
