The job title in the government market is called Capture Manager. This shortage of capture managers has been growing for a while. Selling to government agencies takes a very specific skill set that many people don’t have. When the economy is weak, more companies start selling to the government, especially when the government is increasing spending to help the economy. This has made the shortage of qualified capture managers grow even more rapidly.
Now is one of the best times ever to get into sales in the government market. Sales salaries in the government market are nearly twice as much as the commercial sector for two main reasons, one is the shortage previously mentioned.
